Sony Xperia Z2 is having a IP Rating of IP58 and The Latest Moto G is having Rating IPX7 ,Sony Xperia Z2 can with stand Harmful Dust,Screws,wires and upto <1mm tools .Where as Moto G is not Tested for this Dust Case ,Its only Water Resistance.
So what is IP RATING??
SO,First of all The word IP stands for "International Protection".It is a Standard set By International Electronic Commision.
IP rating Explained!
If a Smartphone IP 67 rated,Then
6 indicates Protection provided against Solid Object such as Fingers or dust
It ranges From 0-6.
7 Indicates Degree of Protection Against Moisture
It ranges From 0-8.
If the smartphone is rated as IP X7 or IP 6X,Then
X indicates Smartphone is not tested for that type of protection(Either Water or Dust Resistance is not Tested in that case)
